Not saying that as some sort of competition....But it seems as the years have past "Today Was A Good Day"(which really blew up in 93) has become a well recognized song by the current generation and The chronic(which really didnt set things off till January 1993 and was just a blip on the radar of 19992's impact) has become a recogniozed classic amongst the current generation as well. But Das Efx had 1992 onlock. Das Efx were the hardcore version of The Fu Shnickens who came out with a banging album that same year as well. But Das Efx kinda came outta nowhere. 

The first single "They Want Efx" (which used a sample freaked by Lord Finesse but IMo done a lil iller) had the streets of Harlem and the BX at a stand still. That one song alone with the EPMD association gave them instant props. Das Efx had a remix of "They Want Efx"" on the A side that was less dark and more funky but still as good. Then the album dropped and it was a banger. Yeah there was this kid named Tongue Twista who was doing that speed rap and Chip Fu was sick with the "'Leave it to Beaver'-arriva, derci " style but that jibba jaaba iggidy Das Efx flow was different. These guys looked like dirty bums who really lived in the sewers and that image along with their music created one of the most memerorable moments in Hip Hop history, word to Dave Chappelle ......

They were also one of the few rappers who rapped about smoking weed before The Chronic flipped the game and made smoking weed a cool thing in Hip Hop. Hit Squad/Def Squad's dominance in 92 is comparable to Young Money in 2010. Das Efx set it off with their first album. KSolo blessed the spring...EPMD dropped a classic that summer and Redmans 1st album ended 92 with a bang. The closers of 92 consisted of Redman, Ice Cube and Da Lench Mob, G Rap, Da Pharcyde, ShowBiz and AG, Father MC,Apache, Arrested Development, Eazy E, Brand Nubian and Grand Puba. Aside from Deep Cover, Dr Dre Blackmoon and Onxy only made noise in late 92 with their 1st singles. Das Efx on the other hand had a strong presence in 1992. 

Their impact was so strong in 92 that the whole flipada tongue style became relative to Das Efx(Nowadays that that kinda style would be refered to as a Bone Thungs style withougt the harmonizing). Cube not only had to shout them out 1nce on his Preditor album but he had them on the album and they were a part of one of his biggest hit songs(Check Yo Self). Dead Serious is a classic. Pick a song, there all good. "Klap Ya Handz" and "East Coast" are my personal favorites.

 Das Efx dropped a dud 2nd album a year later. The album was such a dud that they fell of because of it. In 1995 they put out a classic that no one payed attenton to because they fell off so hard from the 2nd album being a dud. In 98 they along with Smiff N Wesson dropped duds both in the same week. Das Efx has two classic albums and their 1st album is one of them. This is me acknowledging.
